Stained glass became an obsession for me in Florida in the early 70's with copper foil and plant forms, Tiffany and Nouveau. Immigrating to London, England in 1983 exposed me to an incredible Arts & Crafts tradition of leaded, acid etched, stained and painted antique glass. Debora Coombs opened a door for me into free style glass painting with propylene glycol, a medium that keeps normally quick drying paint wet for hours. Becoming an Associate member of the British Society of Master Glass Painters, I designed and edited their Stained Glass magazine for four years. Opportunities abound in the UK for learning new skills and the master glass classes at North Lands Creative in Lybster, Scotland opened a new world of fusing into my work. Returning to the US in 2007, I now have a home studio in the woods of Charlottesville, Virginia.
